Help Me Out Girls

Postby thomasx » Wed Aug 01, 2007 1:34 pm

since it appears to me that LDS girls are a whole different breed from non-member girls.... help me out ladies

What do LDS girls want in a BF/possible husband? And i mean what you ACTUALLY look for ;), not what you tell people you look for (yes, i know there is a difference, we dont have to play those games here :P)

I'll save you some time, bro. They're looking for a guy who has been in jail, rides a motorcycle, has a really deep voice, and has a killer smile that makes Brad Pitt look like Tom Hanks. Non-member girls typically like the same things but without the last two; they're not as picky.

Womanese language note: Many LDS women will refer to the 4 traits above as "honoring your priesthood", so when you see that they are looking for a man who "honors his priesthood", that is usually what they mean.

Previously stated: "What are the traits you look for in a girl? Chances are she'll be looking for similar traits in you."

You mean there are girls out there who are just looking for a guy with big breasts who wears tight clothes? Whoa...

porcelain....i'm sorry but that last paragraph was TOTALLY false. Women tell the truth FAR less when it comes to looks not mattering...they always feed this line "I'm looking for a spiritual guy, good husband, nice, smart, blah blah *insert generic personality trait that's makes them look good when they say they are looking for it*"

But they REALLY are far shallower than men, here's what i've seen they look for:

(1) An RM (if you dont insult and reject non-RMs, you clearly weren't paying close enough attention in YW :P lol)

(2) Born in the church, and a "church family" with high callings (b/c "ironically" families with high callings have children that also get high callings from God, whereas non-member family converts or "spare parts" don't. And you need a husband with a high calling to be spiritual, right? ;) )

(3) Looks (At least some men are honest about going after the hotties...women never are, but they typically reject good men for hot losers

I know a flame war is coming over this post (and i tried not to make too many generalizations if i could help it) But this is what i believe (more importantly, this has been my EXPERIENCE with EVERY lds girl i've dated/tried to date)....so until i find at least ONE good lds girl that isn't like this, i have a hard time changing my stance :(

And Rob, once again you hit the nail on the head with the spirituality/looks issue, i always wondered that myself

"I think the real reason for education in everything - sciences, history, cultures - is so we can get more jokes."

That comment just jumped out at me because I've been trying to tell my nephews this for years... It really saddens me that they seem to be content to go through life only half understanding things especially when they're missing out on humor!

Hmmm.... I suppose, since I've already admitted elsewhere that I can be really bad, I might as well point it out here too. Yes, I'm about to shamelessly promote myself here. :)

I think I'm a pretty good match for you, Alpen, and here's a few reasons why:

  • I'm not only mental challenging, I am mentally challenged.

  • I won't capitulate just because you are female, I'll capitulate just because you are you.

  • It doesn't matter what you order in a restaurant 'cause I'm ordering something that will likely have garlic and onions and some really hot peppers in it.

  • I'm no kissup but I've been told I'm a really good kisser.

  • You're looking for an element of danger? I'm like plutonium-239, baby!

  • If you marry me I doubt you'll get much sleep... because I snore like a sawmill.

  • Intimidating in stature? Sometimes I jump when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror.

  • We have a lot in common 'cause little guys are strangely attracted to me too.

  • I'm not the best looking guy, but I should look familiar if you ever go to the post office much.

  • When I'm leading nobody is sure where things are going but, oddly enough, the vehicle is usually a hand basket...

  • And yess, you are allowed to say “sexy” if you're talking about me. :)

Yes but, Alpen, things don't get really bad until he starts wearing the same outfits when you go out. :)

Well... I'll wear the same outfits as she does as long as there's room in there for the both of us

Lots of things are legal here in Alabama... You just wouldn't want to do them. (ba-doom, ching)

Well, I don't know Alpen... I just thought you'd rather do the illegal stuff with all that "element of danger" talk.  Was I mistaken? ;)
